Farmers Adopt Sustainable Practices Through Community-Led Learning

Farmers are increasingly adopting sustainable agricultural practices through regular community meetings, shared learning and collaborative efforts aimed at improving farm productivity and household incomes.

The initiative is being facilitated by Samekit Jan Vikas Kendra (SJVK) with support from DKA, with a focus on strengthening sustainable livelihoods and building greater resilience among farming communities.

According to the organisation, regular interactions among farmers provide opportunities to exchange knowledge, discuss agricultural practices and identify approaches that can help improve productivity while strengthening the ability of households to respond to changing challenges in agriculture.

The community-based approach places emphasis on collective learning, enabling farmers to share experiences and practical knowledge related to sustainable farming. The organisation says these efforts are intended to contribute to more resilient agricultural livelihoods and improved economic stability for farming households.

SJVK’s work forms part of its broader focus on promoting sustainable livelihoods among rural communities, with farming communities being encouraged to work collectively and adopt practices that can support long-term agricultural resilience.

The initiative highlights the role of farmer-led learning and community collaboration in supporting sustainable agriculture and strengthening rural livelihoods.
