Agra: The Indian Medical Association has started a special organ donation campaign, which will continue till August 13. The main aim is to motivate families of brain-dead patients to donate organs and help save lives. A poster for this campaign was released on Monday at the IMA office in Tota Ka Tal.
IMA President Dr. Pankaj Nagaich explained that organs like the heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, pancreas, intestines, eyes, skin, and even bones of a brain-dead patient can help many people live a better life. Dr. Ranveer Tyagi from the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine said that if families give consent in ICU cases, multiple lives can be saved through one donor.
Secretary Dr. Rajneesh Mishra added that the campaign will focus on spreading awareness among the public about the importance of organ donation. Many doctors including Dr. Mukesh Bhardwaj, Dr. Arvind Yadav, Dr. Prashant Lavania, Dr. Anoop Dixit, Dr. Karan Rawat, Dr. Deeptimala Agarwal, Dr. Seema Singh, and Dr. Shefali Majumdar were present during the event.
